MARGARET WOTRUBA BURAN
(1876 - 1944)

Mrs. John Buran, 66, nee Margaret Rous, of 411 North Eighth street, died early today at the Holy Family hospital, following a week’s illness.

Mrs. Buran was born in Franklin in 1878 and in 1900 was married to Joseph Wotruba. He died 29 years ago. In 1922 she was married to John Buran, who operated the opera house here for a number of years. Later they moved to Milwaukee and came back to Manitowoc last year when Mr. Buran again took over the opera house property on North Eighth street.

Survivors are the husband; a son, Edward Wotruba, of Milwaukee; two step-sons, John Buran Jr., of this city, Pfc. Myles Buran in the south Pacific; two daughters, Mrs. Mark Larson of this city, Mrs. Robert Austin of Milwaukee; four sisters, Mrs. Charles Rezek of Melnik, Mrs. Mary Reznichek, of Whitelaw, Mrs. Anton Yindra of Maribel, Mrs. Charles Opichka, of route 3, Manitowoc; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home and at nine o’clock from the Sacred Heart church, the Rev. Louis Schorn officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

The body may be viewed after Wednesday noon and the rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at seven o’clock at the funeral home.
