Mr. Otto Klein, who had been a resident of the Didsbury district for the past 34 years, died in the Holy Cross Hospital, Calgary, on Thursday, February 9, at the age of 65 years, 4 months and 30 days.
Born in Saline County, Nebraska, on September 10th, 1873, he was married to Miss Sarah Gabel on March 15th, 1898. To this union were born seven sons and three daughters, one daughter predeceasing her father at the age of 3 years.
They resided in Nebraska until 1905, when they moved to Alberta and settled on a farm 4 miles west of Didsbury, where Mrs. Klein passed away on August 19th, 1925.
Mr. Klein's second wife was Mrs. Louise Suderman, whom he married in the fall of 1927 and to the union were born two children, Glen and Elaine. In 1932 they moved to Didsbury and settled on a small farm in the south part of town.
Besides his widow and Glen and Elaine, there survive to mourn his loss seven sons, Irwin, Wilfred and Harry, of Didsbury; John, of Nelson, B.C.; Sylvester, of Olds; Ermont and Vernon, Didsbury; and two daughters, Mrs. W. J. Smiley, of Nelson, B.C., and Mrs. Walter Irwin, of Didsbury.
