Alan Tyson Brown Alan Tyson Brown, 65, of Chambersburg, passed away at his home on Monday, September 23, 2013.

Born January 5, 1948, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Mary Louise McGill Brown.

A cheerful and outgoing spirit, Mr. Brown was always smiling, enjoyed being around people, collecting antique furniture, large cars, especially Lincoln automobiles, flowers, and listening to Luther Van Dross.

He was formerly employed at Pitts Motor Hotel in Washington, D.C., where he worked for 20 years. He was currently employed as a domestic engineer for the last 35 years in the private industry.

Surviving is three children, Kevin A. Brown (fiance Bernice Gilbert) of Fayetteville, Charles M. "Chuck" Brown of Mercersburg, and Alan C. "Clint" Brown (wife Stacy) of Cordova, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Bradley, Preston, Peityn, Caleb, and Shellbee Brown, David Reed and Kyle Gilbert; two siblings, Charles E. Brown II (wife Arnilda) of Chambersburg, and Alanna Y. Flythe of Carlisle; his former wife and friend, Elizabeth R. Brown of Mercersburg; brother-in-law, Samuel Ferguson, Jr.; and a special friend, Linda Francis. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Denise L. Ferguson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, where the Rev. Dr. Allie Harper will officiate.

Interment in Lebanon Cemetery will follow.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home two hours prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brown grandchildren's education fund, c/o Bernice Gilbert, 356 W. Main St., Fayetteville, PA 17222.
