SHEREE WEINREICH DACHMAN, co-owner of Johnny W's Trophies and Awards and winner of numerous awards for her show cats, passed away Sept. 30, 2013, in Denver.

Sheree was born March 29, 1941, in Denver to the late Johnny and Doris Weinreich. She graduated from East High School.

She worked with her parents at Monaco Lanes.

After her father died, Sheree, her mom and sister Vicki Sharp opened Johnny W's Trophies and Awards in 1976. "We always felt like the awards business was wonderful because it helped people honor others for doing good things or achieving something great," Vicki said.

Her marriage to Art Dachman ended in divorce, but they remained close friends.

Sheree was very involved in the Cat Fanciers Assn. and was a legend among American Shorthair breeders. Her cattery significantly contributed to Silver Tabby American Shorthair lines over the past 40 years.

In addition to winning several awards, Sheree gave or shared her grand champion cats with other people so they could enter them in shows or simply love these special felines.

Sheree is survived by her children Cindy (Dan) Niblo-Ward and Scott Dachman; siblings Steve (Nancy) Weinreich and Vicki (David) Sharp; and grandchildren Nicholas, Whitney and Landon.

Rabbis Steven Foster and Brian Immerman officiated at the Oct. 3 graveside service at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Contributions may be made to JFS or www.felinefix.org.

Sheree Dachman (Sharon Ruth Weinreich Dachman) of Aurora, CO passed gently Monday, September 30 at 7:30 am. Sheree's Syntifiny Cattery collaboration with Gar and Ande DeGeer's Hedgewood Cattery is one of the most significant contributions (if not the most) to silver tabby American Shorthair lines in the past 40 years. Sheree had been hospitalized for more than a year and died at 72 of complications from congestive heart disease and diabetes.
She is survived by her sister Vicki Sharp and brother Steve Weinrich, her children, Cindy and Scotty and three grandchildren.

Here are the highlights of her cat fancy career. CFA's 5th Best Cat of 1991, GC, NW Sarouk's Satellite of KCDancers, DM was out of a breeding pair Sheree had given to CFA judge Joan Benson. Satellite's sire and dam are Syntifiny Spotlight and Ch. Syntifiny Satin Doll of Sarouk, DM. Satellite was the foundation male of the Kathy and Craig Miller's KCDancers Cattery. Ch. Syntifiny Satin Doll, DM is also the dam of Sarouks Sundi of Placer, DM who was the foundation female of CFA Judge Caroline Lyons Prisser's Placercats Cattery. Sheree was co breeder of CFA's Best Cat in Premiership for 1988, GP Briarson Babette of Midinite, a brown patched tabby, Babette's dam, GC, GP Syntifiny Karbin Kopy, was leased from Sheree by Brian Pearson who subsequently became a CFA judge. CFA's 6th Best Kitten in 2005 was co-bred by Sheree and Dawn Skupin of Stedam Cattery. The dam of GC, NW Stedam's Autumn Splendor of Bovon, a brown patched tabby and white, is Ch. Syntifiny Samantha of Stedam, DM, a blue and white American Shorthair.

Other catteries who were significantly influenced by the Syntifiny lines include, but are not limited to, Carocats (Carol and Michael Rothfeld), Kathausblus (Lori Stephenson), Rockytop (Kathy Prebble), Sweetplicity (Karen Szabo) and Walkingstick (Janis Walkingstick). My foundation American Shorthair, GC, GP, RW Syntifiny Sandia of Walkingstick (GC Syntifiny Stroke of Luck, DM x Ch Hedgewood's Too Timer of Syntifiny, was the National American Shorthair Club Kitten of the Year in 1985. Too Timer, "Tootie," was sired by GC, NW Hedgewood's Greatest American Hero, DM, a silver tabby who was CFA's Cat of the Year in 1984 (as of this writing there have only been 3 American Shorthair cats of the year in CFA). Sheree's first cat was Ch. Rhonkat's Travis of Syntifiny, a silver tabby born in 1980. He produced her most significant breeding male, GC Syntifiny Stroke of Luck, DM (Ch Rhonkat's Travis of Syntifiny x Ch Millcreek's Mademoiselle, DM.) Sheree would have mentioned her friend "Annie," CFA judge Ann Kimball (Millcreek Cattery) as a dear friend and mentor. The Millcreek lines play a significant part in Syntifiny pedigrees. Sheree was always careful to mention those who came before her, those breeders who contributed to her beautiful cats.

Sheree will be buried tomorrow at Emanuel Cemetery in Denver. Anyone wanting to send condolances may send them to her sister Vicki Sharp, 7805 Araon Ct., Lonetree, CO 80124. There is a perpetual condolance book online at feldmanmortuary.com.The family has asked that donations be made to Jewish Family Services or to Divine Feline (online at www.thefelinefix.org), a trap, neuter, release program for feral cats.
