Early Life: Born second of five children.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: In 1942, Doris married Glenn M. Gardner, their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on April 15, 1954. Doris was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings over the years. She served a mission to the Missionary Training Center in Provo. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and was always serving someone until the last few weeks of her life. What a great example she has been to her family and anyone who knew her. She was also an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She loved genealogy work, painting and sewing. Her family was her greatest treasure. Doris Thacker Gardner, age 89 died on September 29, 2013 at her home in Lehi, Utah with her sons around her.
Survived By: Her sons: Lance (Phyletta) Heber, UT; Alan (LeAnn) Idaho Falls, ID; and Paul (Marilynn) Riverton, UT; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, brother, Wayne (Donna) Thacker, Heber, UT; and sister, Anna Durrant, Kaysville, UT.
Preceded In Death By: Her parents, her husband, son, Scott; grandson, Eric Scott Gardner; siblings, Stanley and Glenna Thacker.
