Note: From "The Duffie Family of Edinburgh and New York" by Patricia Ellerton Duffie published 1983 - p129 - On June 23, 1863, Cornelius Roosevelt Duffie II married Sarah Brush Clark. She was the daughter of Mary (Brush) Clark and Joel Clark, a hat manufacturer of Danbury, CT and Newark, NJ. The Clarks were descended from James Clark, who was one of the first settlers of New Haven, CT (1678). Sarah was the mother of their four children. She was an invalid in her later years, died March 5, 1880 at the age of forty-two and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery. None of the family treasures have been identified as her possessions. Only her picture remains.
