Bertie E. Troxel, 55, Former Resident Dies
Bertie Elmer Troxel, 55, a native of Dewitt county, died in his home at Atlanta late Wednesday following several months illness. He was born in Wapella township, Dewitt county, Sept. 13, 1879, and his early life was spent on a farm near Clinton. For the last 24 years, he has been employed by the Illinois Central and Pennsylvania railroads at Atlanta.
He was married to Jennie Cisco, Aug. 5, 1903, who survives, with the follwing children: Mrs. May Griffin and Mrs. Mary Bruce, both of Atlanta, Mrs. Bessie Garriott of Beason, Mrs. Versa Bateman of Emdan, Mrs. Evelyn Ball of Chestnut, and Harold Troxel at home.
Mr. Troxel was a member of the Rock Creek Christian Church near Waynesville. The funeral will be held at the Atlanta Christian Church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
