   Mrs. Sadie E. Baskins, wife of E. D. Baskins, one of Mulhall's leading business men, died at her home at 6 o'clock, Sunday evening, October 4, 1908, of blood poisoning from a fever sore on her mouth.
   Mrs. Baskins maiden name was Bowers. She was born at Onaga, Kansas, December 9, 1878, and came to Oklahoma with her parents in 1890. She and E. D. Baskins were married August 18, 1897, and became residents of Mulhall. A son, Cleo E., was born to them.
   In early life Mrs. Baskins became a member of the Methodist church. Three years ago she united with the Christian church in Mulhall.
   Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Mulhall, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Sermon by Elder Leo Anthis. The body was laid to rest in Roselawn cemetery. Eureka Lodge, I.O.O.F., Daughters of Rebecca, of which she was a member, participated in the services.
   Mrs. Baskins' death cast a gloom over the community. In social circles and in the work of the church she will be missed. Much sympathy is expressed for the bereaved husband and son, and her mother. Besides these she leaves four brothers and three sisters to mourn her untimely death.
   Among the relatives present at the funeral of Mrs. Baskins were her three sisters, Mrs. Loa M. Bunting, St. John, Kansas; Mrs. Ollie Black, Lawton, Okla.; and Mrs. Dora Linn, Dale, Okla. The four brothers here were Otto Bowers, Choctaw, Okla.; J. H. Bowers, St. John, Kansas, A. J. Bowers, St. John, Kansas, and H. E. Bowers, Mulhall.

   Sarah Elizabeth Bowers was born at Onaga, Kansas, Dec. 9, 1878. In 1890 she came with her parents to Oklahoma. She and E.D. Baskins were married Aug. 18, 1897. To them were born one son, Cleo.
   At the age of 13, Mrs. Baskins became a member of the Methodist church. Three years ago, she took her membership to the Christian church at Mulhall. She was active in church work whenever her household duties permitted.
   Her death occurred at her home in Mulhall at 6 o'clock on the Lord's day evening, Oct. 4, 1908. She had reached the age of 29 years, 9 mos. and 25 days. When it was announced that she was dead, a gloom seemed to gather over our town and sorrow prevailed. Everywhere sympathy was expressed for the husband and little son, Cleo.
   Mrs. Baskin leaves a husband, son, mother, four brothers and three sisters to mourn her untimely death. They are: mother, Mrs. Mary C. Bowers, Mulhall; sisters, Mrs. Lois M. Bunting, St. John, Kans., Mrs. Ollie B. Black, Lawton, Okla., Mrs. Dora B. Linn, Dale, Okla.; brothers, W.O. Bowers, Choctaw, Okla., J.H. Bowers, St. John, Kans., H.E. Bowers, Mulhall, Okla., Mrs. S.A. Baskins, Edmond, Okla., Mr. Henry Jergenson and wife, Edmond, Okla., Mrs. Anna Pettyjohn and daughters Mary and Edie, Red Rock, Mr. Will Odie and wife, Oklahoma City, Okla., Miss Bertha Baskins, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mr. Barney Woolverton and wife, Red Rock, Okla., all of whom were present at the funeral.
   She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, being connected with Eureka Lodge No. 75, I.O.O.F.
   At 2 o'clock Tuesday, the funeral of Mrs. Baskins was held at the Christian church, which was crowded by sorrowing relatives and friends, while large numbers on the outside were in respectful attention. The hearse bearing the remains in a beautiful white coffin was followed by sixty or more members of the K. of P. Order and Woodmen. The pallbearers were Misses Bertha Kincaid and Lucille Mulhall, Madams E.J. Champion, Clarence Ready, J.F. Rawlings and J.A. Vanderpool. A select choir from the various churches sang appropriate songs. Elder Charles Hazelrigg read a sketch of the life of the deceased.
   Mr. Anthis took for his text I Corinthians 15:54. "Death is Swallowed up in Victory" and gave a very clear and comforting discourse on the Christian doctrine of the life everlasting and that death does not end all, Christ by going down into the grave and coming out again, made light when darkness would otherwise be.
   A long procession followed the remains to Rose Lawn Cemetery were the burial took place.
