Dorothy Rose Lahners, 85 of Grand Island died Monday, September 30, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013 at All Faiths Funeral Home Chapel. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Ms. Lahners was born July 17, 1928 on a farm in Howard County the daughter of Bruno and Gertrude (Michalek) Fredrick.
Survivors of the immediate family include daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Jim Johnson, Sr. and Pam and Cecil Rawlings all of Grand Island and son, David Lahners of Omaha; daughter-in-law, Debrah Lahners of Grand Island; sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Bob Chavis of North Platte and sister-in-law, Jolene Fredrick of Grand Island.
Those also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren and their spouses, Ben and Stacey Seim, Jason and Kagan Seim, Rob and Denise Rall, Patrick and Carrie Rall, Sarah and Zac Peirce, Jared and Lindsay Rawlings, Ira Lahners and Audra Lahners and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Her parents; daughter, Judy Seim and brother, Ellard Fredrick preceded her in death.
Dorothy was raised on a farm in Howard County and attend school through the eighth grade. In 1976 she was very proud to have earned her GED. She was united in marriage to Thomas Lahners. Many will remember her as a waitress for several years at Conoco Café. Her richness was her family.
