As a young man he traveled to Sarasota, Florida where he met the love of his life, Bertha Frieda Summerall. Kenon couldn't help himself. He fell in love with Bertha, because she was such a kind, loving and giving person and a hard worker. Bertha agreed to marry Kenon and live with him in West Virginia. So they started on their trip and married in Ranger, Lincoln County, West Virginia on April 24, 1973. They were married in the home of a Free Will Baptist Minister, Jessee Blankenship. The minister's wife was the witness to the marriage.
After living for 20 years in West Virginia, Kenon and Bertha moved back to Florida and settled in Hernando, Florida. This was just one half hour drive from Bertha's sister Juanita, who lived with her husband Henry in Crystal River, Florida.
Kenon and Bertha and their dogs enjoyed living in Hernando, Citrus County, for 17 years until their death. They both died on the same day, October 14, 2010. They are greatly missed by all who loved them.
Kenon and Bertha were married for 37 years, 5 months and 20 days. They had no children.
Kenon was always good to me. I will always remember the good times. I miss him & my sister very much. By: Juanita Clark, Kenon's sister-in-law.
******************************************** THIS BASKET OF BURDENS
My basket of burdens, is filled with grief of my loss,
It is so heavy to carry, although this road I must cross.
This pathway through life, feels unbearable at times,
And I don't have the strength, for this mountain I climb.
It's draining my strength, I can't do any more.
This pain goes deep, right down to the core.
This basket of burdens, You can't see and can't touch.
I carry it inside me. This pain is too much.
Someday I'll lay down my basket, with burdens no more.
My pain will be gone, when I cross through that door.
Then I'll know the reason, for my basket of burdens.
How God showed me his Grace, When I couldn't cope with the season. Love and support HE gave, when HIS presence felt unknown, HE was with me each step, when I felt so alone.
