He was born 2/10/1927 in East Chicago, IN, a son oaf Harry and Ruth Searls Barnard. He married Marjorie Ogden in 1952 in Heyworth. She survives. He was a stillman for an Amoco Refinery. He was a member of the Episcopal Church. He was also a Mason and member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and Orak Temple Shrine, Hammond. He was a navy veteran of WWII.
