He is buried in Clemons Cemetery in Boones Mill, Virginia. You're correct, what ancestry says is Fainey, is actually Family. Now, I don't actually have any other information proving he is buried in Clemons cemetery, other than it most likely says family and there's a Clemons Cemetery in Boones Mill.

In a newspaper article Sunday, April 09, 1944 Richmond, Virginia, Richmond Times Dispatch, Page: 17, it is mentioned that he was wounded and was the son of Mrs. Clara E. Clemons.

CO I, 504th Para Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division

Cainie drowned during the crossing the Waal River [probably after being wounded by German fire] about 2 km west of the Waal Bridge a canvas boat.

The Netherlands on the Waal River. He will be forever honored in Nijmegen on the new bridge called "The Crossing". A light will be lit each evening for each of the 48 men who died crossing the Waal River September 20, 1944.

He was repatriated in 1949.
