Peter J. McIntosh came from Stratford, Ontario to the Rocanville districk in 1883, along with his friend Charlie Salkeld. They moved to the Rocanville, Saskatchewsan area. It was then that he met Miss Annie Elizabeth 'Liz' Mulberry. The couple was married in Estevan, Saskatchewan in 1890.

In 1890 the old log school building from Rocanville was moved near Pete and Liz's homestead onto NW 17-17-31. In 1905 a new school was built. Mrs. Mac taught at the school for a time until a teacher could be located and brought in. Liz became know as 'Mrs. Mac'. For 40 years the teachers would board at the McIntosh home. Mrs. McIntosh was fond of caring for the children. Pete was the 'fire-lighter' for the Perth School for 20 years.

Pete was a very good violin and fiddle player, He would play at gatherings in homes. He often times accompanied James Auburton Mulberry 'Jimmie' who played the mouth organ. The furniture was moved out of the way so people could dance; children fell asleep to the sound of the merriment in the homes.
