HALLOCK, Minn. - Woodrow Woodard, 89, Hallock, died at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center, Hallock, Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004.
Woodrow Ira Woodard was born Dec. 15, 1914 in Hallock, the fourth child of Charles and Hilma Woodard. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school at Hallock.
He married Joyce Meyer at Humboldt, Feb. 8, 1941. They spent most of their married life in Hallock. Woody worked as a car salesman for many years, retiring at the age of 79.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church; a volunteer fireman for 16 years and a member of the Eagles Club, where he served as secretary for 22 years.
Family members include his wife, Joyce; two sons, Daniel (Brenda), Hallock and Thomas (Beth), Mayville; a daughter, Peggy (Bill), Farmer St. Croix Falls, Wis.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis, Alexandria; and a sister, Dorothy McKay, Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy; three grandsons; a brother; and three sisters.
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 12, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock. Rev. Phil Tobin, presided;
Honorary pallbearers were Lori Masloski, Marit Brock, Haley Woodard, Jayne Woodard, Brianna Woodard, Sara Woodard, Amy Opstad and Melissa Woodard.
Pallbearers were Dan Woodard Jr., Charley Opstad, Brady Woodard, Bjorn Woodard, Randy Masloski and Tom Brock.
Adamson-Austin-Hughes Funeral Home, Hallock, assisted the family with arrangements.
