Ballston Spa, March 7. – Mrs. Phoebe Ann Steward, widow of Horton Rue, died yesterday afternoon about 12:30 o’clock at her home northwest of Ballston Spa, after an illness of the past year. She was 99 years old and one of the oldest residents of this section of the country.
Mrs. Rue was born at Ballston Center June 28, 1830 and always resided in this section. Until her fatal illness she always enjoyed the best of health. She was a member of the Ballston Center Presbyterian church.
Mrs. Rue leaves two sons Frank Rue of Schenectady, William Rue of Ballston Center, three grandsons (names redacted for privacy).
Funeral services will be conducted at the Carter Funeral Home 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon, the Rev. Delos E. Sprague, pastor of the Baptist church to officiate. Burial will be in the Briggs cemetery.
