Lois Lorane Abbott, 63, of Crothersville, died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at her home with her family by her side. Born January 8, 1950 in Washington County, she was the daughter of Hugh Tompkins and Margurite (Wingler) Tompkins Hendrix who are both deceased.


She retired from Aisin in Seymour in 2012. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, served as past president of the women's auxiliary post # 1083. On May 10, 2006 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee she married Mark E. Abbott who survives in Crothersville.


Other survivors include three children, Robin D. Nehrt of Crothersville, Jamie Mull of Crothersville, Melinda S. Hensley of Salem, five grandchildren, Tiffany (David) Orrill of Paris Crossing, Derek Mull of Commiskey, Shawn (Brittany Coomer) Hensley of Crothersville, Ryan Mull of Crothersville, Rebecca Hensley of Crothersville, one great-granddaughter Samantha Orrill of Paris Crossing, seven siblings, William "Bud" (Jerri) Tompkins of Columbus, Orpha Abner of Brownstown, Mabel (Walter) Farris of Louisville, Doris Tincher of Clarksville, Hazel Toppe of Brownstown, Nellie (Gary) Ford of Tennessee, Laura Pearson of Idaho.


Elder Marvin Vonnahme will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013 with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery.
