Robert James Terry, beloved son of the late Lillie L. and John Terry, was born on July 4, 1911 in Mecklenburg, Virginia. Suddenly on Thursday, April 5 1990, God in His Infinite Wisdom, silently called our beloved Robert into His Heavenly Home.
Robert attended Schools and spent most of his youthful life in Virginia. Robert relocated to Maryland in 1927 and decided to become a permanent resident of Baltimore, Maryland.
Robert was married to the late Catherine Scott Terry in 1942. This union was blessed with one daughter; the late Dorothy Terry Cannon. Robert was a loyal and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Robert was employed at The Miriam Baker Decorators until his retirement.
Robert was a devout Christian Soldier. Robert was a dedicated member of The Male Usher Board at The MT. Olive Freewill Baptist Church in 1955. Robert later transferred his membership to The Solid Rock Freewill Baptist Church and joined The Male Usher Board.
Robert was a loving, kind and loyal, devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Robert was always willing to help anyone that needed his help. Robert will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Robert has left to cherish his loving memories: his grandson, Calvin Cannon; granddaughter-in-law, Evon Cannon; two great-grandsons, Tavon and Steven; one brother, Frank Terry of Salisbury, Maryland; one brother-in-law, Leon Scott of Baltimore; one sister-in-law, Liz Scott of Baltimore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to count.
