Mrs. Lettie Abbey
Mrs. Lettie (Wentworth) Abbey, widow of the late William Abbey who died Nov. 1926, died very suddenly at 6:00 a.m. Monday morning at the home of her grandson, Gerald Mathewson, Fredonia. She was 75 years of age.
Mrs. Abbey was born in Cherry Creek township, south of Hamlet, Feb. 16, 1861, and had been a life long resident of this vicinity. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Rosetta Crowell Wentworth.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Julia McNamara of Hamlet and Mrs. Nellie Mathewson of Round Top district; nine grand children and seven great grand children. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the Hamlet M.E. Church and Cherry Creek Grange.
The funeral was held from the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mathewson, Thursday at one p.m., Rev. Archie R. Hilliard of Randolph officiating. Burial was in the family lot, Arkwright Summit Cemetery.
