Born September 1, 1932, he was a son of the late Arvel and Jessie Mae Wardell Lyons. Mr. Lyons retired as a loom-fixer from Clinton Mills and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Laurens Pentecostal Holiness Church and often attended Laurens Church of God.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Robert A. Lyons and Nick Lyons and wife, Rebecca, all of Laurens, SC, Robin Lyons of Waterloo, SC, and Mitchell Lyons of Columbia, SC; a daughter, Angie Lyons Clark and husband, Todd of Fort Mill, SC; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Douglas of Toccoa, GA, and Grace Nix of Central, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James A. Lyons; and a sister, Mary Pearl Bagwell.
