Virginia McWhirter, 85, of Slater, Missouri died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri. Funeral services will be Monday, October 7, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Slater. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 P.M. Sunday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the church or American Heart Association . Survivors include, two sons, Steve McWhirter of Lees Summit and Dean McWhirter of Slater; a daughter, Katherine Clay of Green City; six grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Lueck of Odessa and Melvin Lueck of Leeton; and two sisters, Irene Treece of Leeton and Ella Bryson of Marshall.
