Charles married Harriet Lisabeth (Hat) Fisk on Dec 31, 1893. Harriet bore my father, John Wilburn Carroll on March20, 1898. She died 5 mths later, leaving my grandfather with an infant to see after. He took my father to be with his parents, who were instrumental in raising him. Charles remarried to Catherine McGerty on Nov 30, 1903, and from that union came 12 more children. Thanks to the internet, a little work and a lot of luck, I have found 2 surviving aunts and several cousins!
