Alice E. Goodwin, 78, of Pineville, Mo. departed this life on Sunday, July 31, 2005 in her home after a sudden illness.

Alice was born April 27, 1927 in Ft. Scott, Kansas daughter of the late Clark M. and Izora (Brashear) Smith. On April 17, 1946 in Ft. Scott, Kansas she was united in marriage to Melvin Goodwin and to this union three sons were born. In 1959 the family sold their farm in Ft. Scott and moved to Pineville, Mo. Besides being a hard working and devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Alice had also worked twenty-three years for the Cooper Communities in their housekeeping division. She enjoyed long walks, watching westerns, and reading.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-six years, Melvin Goodwin on December 30, 1992; three brothers; and one sister.

Alice is survived by three sons, Warren Goodwin of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Larry Goodwin of Hindsville, Ark., and Mitchell Goodwin of Pineville, Mo.; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
