OBITUARY - RAY ARMSTRONG, Diagonal

DIAGONAL - Ray ARMSTRONG, 76, of Diagonal died Friday evening, Dec. 30, 1988, at his home.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2 at the United Church of Diagonal. The Rev. Eydie STEPHENS officiated with burial in the Diagonal Cemetery. The Wilson-Watson Funeral Home of Diagonal had charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in his name.

Mr. ARMSTRONG was born Dec. 1, 1912, in Poplar Bluffs, Mo., to J. C. and Minnie (MORRIS) ARMSTRONG. He was a veteran of World War II, and a retired firefighter and truckdriver. He lived in Arizona for many years and Jefferson before moving to Diagonal in 1984.

Survivors include four sons, James of Phoenix, Ariz., Michael of Utah and Tom and Kelly of Mount Ayr; two daughters, Marti (Mrs. Joe) MILLER of Creston and Susan (Mrs. Terry) RHONE of Van Meter; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
