Adele B. Rathsack, age 94, formerly of 1308 Flambeau St., Manitowoc, died on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at St. Mary's Felician Village, Manitowoc.

She was born on Jan. 25, 1916, in Ladysmith, Wis., daughter of the late Edmund P. and Florence (Doers) Brockbank. Adele graduated from Ladysmith High School as class valedictorian at the age of 16 and then from Rusk County Teachers College. She married Mark E. Rathsack on Sept. 3, 1941, in Ladysmith, Wis., and waited for his return from service in WWII. He preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1996. Adele was employed in the Manitowoc City Assessors office for a number of years, retiring in 1978.

Survivors include one son: Michael W. Rathsack, Park Ridge, Ill.; daughter and son-in-law: Sara Ann and Larry Rosson, Kalama, Wash.; daughter: Mary Lee Rathsack, Manitowoc; three grandchildren: Chad (Molly) Daul, Portland, Ore.; Frances (James) Jagemann-Feeney, Chicago, Ill.; Catherine Adele Rathsack Jagemann, Manitowoc; three great-grandchildren: Jarred, Joel and Joshua Daul, Portland, Ore.; and her sister: Ethel Dinkel, Baton Rouge, La. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law: Nona Rathsack; sisters: Ruth Jane Brockbank, Isabelle Brockbank, Mary Kandler, Senes Mestelle, and Florence Johnson; and brothers: Thomas and Richard Brockbank.

Private funeral services will be held. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Gerald Foley with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Memorials may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Parish or the St. Marys Felician Village Trust Fund.

The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Mary's of Felician Village and Manitowoc Home and Hospice for their care of our mother these last years.

Thank you Mom, for the time you spent caring for your children, enjoying your grandchildren and great-grandchildren and setting an example of healthy living for all of us.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
