Roger F. Rindt, 80, of 1515 S. Memorial Drive, Appleton, died unexpectedly Saturday, September 23rd, 1989 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Appleton. Rev. William Kuhr officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Rindt was born September 29, 1908 at Pentwater, Michigan, son of the late Charles and Helen Rindt. He was employed by the City of Appleton from 1948-1973 during which time he served as Supervisor of Parks from 1967 -973, Weed Commission from 1967-973 and City Forester from 1961-1973. He received the Outstanding Service Award from Wisconsin Park and Recreation Association in 1973. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the International Society of Arbor Culture. He was an avid Archaeologist and Fisherman.

Survivors include two sisters, Audrey Thorne of Green Bay and Wanda Duket of Manitowoc; two nephews and special friends, Merlin and Anna May Olson of Appleton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vergene in 1988, a son, Roger Paul, in 1956 and a brother, Charles.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel, Appleton, assisted the family with arrangements.
