Peter D. Rosland, age 63, of 1001 N. 40th St., died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.

Peter was born on Oct. 2, 1943, in Manitowoc, son of the late Elmer and Mercedes Tomcheck Rosland. He graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, with the class of 1962. On May 7, 1966, he married the former Kathleen "Kitty" Meyer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 26, 1964 to March 25, 1965, and was a member of the Army National Guard from 1964 until 1971. He worked for over 30 years at Parker-Hannifin retiring in January of 2007. Peter was a member of St. Francis of Assisi and the Manitowoc Senior Center. He bowled in the Monday afternoon and Wednesday evening leagues at Meadow Lanes West, and in the past, he coached little league baseball for the Manitowoc City Police team. He coached basketball for the Manitowoc City Recreation League and was a cub scout leader in the past. Peter was a lifelong Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodger fan.

Survivors include his wife: Kitty, Manitowoc; one son: Jonathan Rosland, Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law: Chris (Marilyn) Rosland, Cudahy; three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in law: Matthew (Marge) Meyer, Manitowoc; Lynn Meyer Dufek and her husband, Gary Dufek, Branch; Ron (Jane) Meyer, Manitowoc; and David (Cindy) Meyer, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law: Thomas Meyer, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Alphonse and Terese Meyer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at St. Francis of Assisi Waldo Blvd. Site. The Rev. John Schuetze will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.

Relatives may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Rosland family.
