Erwin J. Ruchhoeft, 45, of 1640 Flettt Ave., Racine, Wis., died Sunday, Jan. 20, at St. Luke Hospital, Racine.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. James Stamborski will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Ruchhoeft was born Oct. 31, 1934, at Manitowoc, son of the late Erwin and Mary Walsh Ruchhoeft. He was graduated from St. Boniface Parochial School, Lincoln High School Class of 1952, Manitowoc County Teachers College and Lakeland College. He was a member of the United States Army from 1954 to 1956, serving overseas in Germany, and married Linda Johnson Feb. 7, 1959, at Waukegan, Ill. Mr. Ruchhoeft was a Sixth Grade teacher for 16 years at Gilbert Knapp Elementary School in Racine.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Michael, and four daughters, Michele, Marjorie, Maureen and Melissa of Racine; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Leonard Doyle of Racine; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerome and Delores Johnson of Two Rivers, Charles and Nancy Johnson Jr. of Waldo, Wis., Floyd Johnson of Two Rivers, Larry and Shirley Stelzer of Manitowoc, LeRoy and Carol Smith of Tisch Mills, Sharon Johnson of Kenosha, Kenneth Johnson of Montclair, N.J., and Richard and Rita Longhini of Manitowoc, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Verna Johnson Sr. of Kewaunee.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, where a prayer service will be at 7 p.m.
