Mrs. Evelyn H. Carmichael, of Canton, died Sunday, September 9, 2007, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 11, 2007 from Huey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Morris and Rev. John Lummus, officiating. Interment will be in the Macedonia Memorial Park. Visitation will be all day Monday. Mrs. Carmichael was a classroom teacher for Cherokee County schools for 30 years. Her many awards include Teacher of the Year and several times named Star Teacher. She was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church. Survivors are husband, Robert T. (Sonny) Carmichael, Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Robby and Jaime Carmichael, Canton; brother, Leonard Hester, Canton; sister, Darlene Thomas, Canton; grandchildren, Joseph, Riley, and Tatum Carmichael, all of Canton.
