Eleanor L. Becker, 79, formerly of Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Thursday, September 3, 1987 at St. Luke Hospital, Milwaukee.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by Rev. Stan T. Browne and Rev. Ken Frozena, with burial to follow at a later date at St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mrs. Becker was born April 8, 1908 at Castle, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Lipski Gretz. She married Alois Becker on September 18, 1928 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1936. Mrs. Becker has been a resident of Milwaukee for the past 20 years. She and her husband were owners and operators of Becker Clover Farm Grocery Store located on 2003 Hamilton Street. After her husband's death in 1936 she continued in the business until she moved to Milwaukee in the mid 1960's.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Edward Pflum of Appleton and Joan and Commodore Barnes of Hales Corners; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Alice) Duhnke of Appleton and Mrs. Pauline Browne of Manitowoc; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Martha) Harrington and Mrs. Eli (Delores) Prochnow and a brother, Edwin Gretz.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 5 pm to 8 pm Sunday where a rosary will be recited by St. Mary Rosary and Altar Society at 5:30 pm and a prayer service will be at 7 pm by Rev. Stan T. Browne.
