Joseph Baetka(sic), 85, of 1513 Columbus Street, died today at the Holy Family hospital, where he has been a patient for a week. He has been in failing health for a year.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Shimek and Schwartz funeral home and at nine o'clock from the St. Mary's Catholic church, the Rev. John Landowski officiating.
Mr. Baetka was born in Poland in 1859 and came to this city 65 years ago. He married Miss Anna Andrastek. She died seven years ago. He was employed for a number of years at the Reiss Coal company here.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Edward Musial and Mrs. Theodore Johnson, both of this city; two sons, John and Peter, both of this city; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home after seven o'clock this morning.

In the Matter of the Estate of JOSEPH BETKA, deceased.
Notice is hereby given that at a term of said Court to be held on Tuesday, the 29th day of February, 1944, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon of said day, at the County Court Room in the City of Manitowoc in said County, there will be heard and considered:
The application of Peter Baetke for the probate of the Will of Joseph Betka, deceased, and for the appointment of an executor or administrator with the will annexed of the estate of Joseph Betka, deceased, late of the City of Manitowoc in said County;
Notice is further given that all claims against the said Joseph Betka, deceased, late of the City of Manitowoc in Manitowoc County, State of Wisconsin, must be presented to said County Court at Manitowoc in said County Court at Manitowoc in said County, on or before the 1st day of June, 1944; or be barred; and that all such claims and demands will be examined and adjusted at a term of said Court to be held at the County Court Room in the city of Manitowoc in said County, on Tuesday, the 6th day of June, 1944, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon of said day.
