Joseph S. Bonk, 57, of 1118 S. 22nd St., Manitowoc, died Sunday morning at his home following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Leschke and Bergner Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Bonk was born Feb. 20, 1902, at Manitowoc, son of the late Martin and Pauline Bonk. He married the former Alice Andrastek Nov. 24, 1925, at Manitowoc. Mr. Bonk was employed as a fireman at Manitowoc Fire Dept. for 18 years until illness forced him to retire March 1, 1950. The past four years he was employed as a maintenance man at the Manitowoc Herald Times. He was a member of the Manitowoc Eagles Aerie 706.

Survivors include the wife; a son, James of Oshkosh; a daughter, Mrs. Donald LeCoque of Manitowoc; three brothers, Walter and Louis of Manitowoc and Frank of California; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Charneski and Mrs. Reinhardt Butz of Manitowoc and Mrs. Rose Shuminski of Detroit, and seven grandchildren.
