John Bonk, 65, of 1133 South 22nd street, died suddenly yesterday afternoon while working on his new garage.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Pfeffer funeral home and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary church, the Rev. John Landowski officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery.

Mr. Bonk, who was a carpenter at the Burger Boat company, was born in Manitowoc in 1884. He married Josephine Zagrodnik 29 years ago.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Wagner and Mrs. Steve Check; four brothers, Walter, Louis and Joseph of Manitowoc and Frank in California; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Mrotek, Mrs. Frank Charneski and Mrs. Rennert Butz of Manitowoc and Mrs. Walter Somenske of Detroit; and five grandchildren.

He was a member of the Holy Name society and the carpenter local No. 849.

The body may be viewed at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening and the rosary will be recited by the Holy Name society at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
