Pauline J. Browne, age 87, a Manitowoc resident, died Monday evening, March 24, 2003, at Community Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Presiding at the Mass of Christian Burial will be her son, the Rev. Stanley Browne. Officiating at the Final Commendation will be the Most Rev. Robert J. Banks, Bishop of Green Bay. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

She was born June 19, 1915, in Kassel, Wis., daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Lipski Gretz. Pauline was employed at Manitowoc Milk Producers, Inc. for many years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc.

Survivors include a son: the Rev. Stanley (Tom) Browne; a sister: Alice Duhnke and an aunt: Helen Lipski. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Edwin Gretz; and three sisters: Eleanor Becker, Martha Harrington and Dolores Prochnow.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Thursday until the time of service at 11 a.m.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Father Browne wishes to express his heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Marquette Home Care Services, the staff at Sharpe Care Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Community Memorial Hospital at Oconto Falls, along with Dr. Wittman and Dr. Kayayan for the care and compassion they extended to his mother.
