John A. Budnik, 68, of 1113 S. 21st St., Manitowoc, died Thursday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient a week.

Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Landowski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Budnik was born Sept. 8, 1893, at Manitowoc, son of the late Paul and Mary Korlesky Budnik. He was a resident of Manitowoc all of his life. He attended St. Mary School and married Mary Rysticken June 14, 1915, at Manitowoc. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of the church and last year was awarded an honorary life membership after a 45-year affiliation in the International Molders and Foundry Workers Local 301. He started as a molder in 1914 in the Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry and progressed to rank of foreman and plant superintendent, a position he held for 35 years until his retirement two years ago. He was recognized as a leading foundryman in Wisconsin.

Among survivors are his wife, two sons, Alvin of Manitowoc and Arthur of Racine; a daughter, Mrs. Anthony Rugoski of Manitowoc; a brother, Jack of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Jack Hasenjager and Mrs. Frank Jagodinsky of Manitowoc and nine grandchildren. Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
