DIED:
Joseph Burry, aged thirty-eight, member of the city council from the Seventh ward, responded to the summons of death last Sunday morning at 2 o'clock, at the family home on Fifteenth and Madison streets, the cause of his demise being tuberculosis, from which insidious disease he had suffered for four years.

Up to five weeks ago he was able to attend to his duties as an alderman, in which capacity he served about two and a half years, he having been re-elected last spring.

A wife, five daughters and one son, besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Burry, and five sisters survive to mourn his loss.

Mr. Burry was born and reared in this city, and he had lived here all his life. He was a molder by trade, and was employed at the plant of the Seating company until four years ago, when failing health caused him to abandon that occupation. He then engaged in the saloon business.

The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church, interment taking place at St. Mary's cemetery.

The Molders' union of which the decedent was an honored member, and the city council and city officers attended the funeral in a body, members of the council acting as pall-bearers.

Flags on the city buildings were half-massed on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in honor of the decedent, whose untimely death is deplored by a large circle of friends.
