William Nelson Bice, 89, of Ozark, Arkansas, died, Monday, October 7, 2013 in Ozark.
He was born January 10, 1924 in Sulphur Rock, Arkansas to Ewing Jacob and Agnes B. Fitch Bice.

He was a retired Engineer from the Arkansas State Highway Department and a 20 year consultant for Perkins Construction of Russellville, Arkansas. He was the consulting Engineer who put the lights on the Ozark Bridge and resident engineer on I-40 from Johnson County Line to Oklahoma State Line. He was a member of Ozark Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard, Hershel and Don L. Bice and three sons in law, Leonard Carpenter, Jerry Maier and Alan Dirk Greenwood.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 11, 2013 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Brother John Brasseaux officiating with burial at Highland Cemetery in Ozark, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Berneice Tomlinson Bice of Ozark; three daughters, Nita Jean Maier of Sherwood, Arkansas, Shirley Carpenter of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Rebecca Greenwood of Kempner, Texas; foster daughter, Joyce Chenowith of Dover, Arkansas; one sister, Marie Mahon of Vero Beach, Florida; one brother, Terry Bice of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 W. Commercial in Ozark.

Pallbearers will be Frank Woolsey, C.A. Kuykendall, Randall Dias, Jonathan Maier, Alan Dirk Greenwood II and William Jacob Greenwood.
