Tekoa Lurray Brown was a United States Army soldier (95B) from the Military Police Corps.
Brown was working as a Military Police Patrol on May 1, 1999 when she was dispatched to assist the fire department with a fire at the NCO Academy. While en route to the call, she lost control of her vehicle and crashed. She subsequently died from her injuries at 10:00 a.m. on May 10, 1999, at the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virgnia.
Brown died after injuries sustained nine days earlier on May 1, 1999, from a vehicle accident while responding to a building fire at Fort Eustis in Newport News, Virginia. While responding, her vehicle left the roadway and crashed into two trees.
Brown had served in the U.S. Army for only eight months and is survived by her daughter, TiJae Loren Brown, her parents, Connie Hart and Charles Brown, and her sister, Yolanda Brown-Wilson.
