Herald Coaster, September 22, 1986:

Funeral services for Addie C. Balke, 101, of Rosenberg, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church of Rosenberg, with Dr. Jack Allbright officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Balke died Saturday at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital in Richmond. She was a native of Sealy and a resident of Rosenberg since 1915. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rosenberg; a past Matron of the Eastern Star No. 429 in Rosenberg; a member of the United Methodist Women, Royal Neighbors of America, and the Rebeccah Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. J.W. Balke.

Survivors include her daughter, Marjorie Vogelsang of Rosenberg; two grandchildren, Donald Vogelsang and his wife, Lois, of Richmond, and Brenda Clark Harrison of Richmond; and five great-grandchildren, Al, Clayton, and Julie Clark, and Lance and Grant Vogelsang.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Rosenberg.

Friends may call at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Services are under the direction of Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors.
