George C. Anderson
FORT SUMNER - Funeral services for George C. Anderson were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Sort Sumner. Mr. Anderson was born January 16, 1892 in Comanche, Texas and died Wednesday at DeBaca General Hospital.

Mr. Anderson was the father of Jewel Sasser of Clovis.

The Reverends Lloyd Cain and Leroy Looper officiated at the funeral services. Burial was in Fort Sumner Cemetery under the direction of Julian Mortuary.

Mr. Anderson moved to the Fort Sumner Valley in 1939. He moved into the village of Fort Sumner in 1958 after retiring from farming and ranching and later served as city marshall. At the time of his death, Mr. Anderson was a municipal judge.

Other survivors include the widow, Elizabeth Anderson of Fort Sumner; four sons; 10 daughters; 25 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
