Marvin Windell Stidham was born 2 Nov 1940 in Cullman County, Alabama and died 21 May 1979 in Holly Pond, Cullman, Alabama.
He is the son of William Martin "Searcy" Stidham and Vergie Gladys Cornelius. The paternal grandson of George Marion Stidham and Margaret Ann Salena Holcombe and maternal grandson of William Herbert Cornelius and Nancy Ophellia Brown.

Windell was born normal, but at 2 1/2 yrs. of age, he came down with what the Dr. thought was polio or spinal menengitis. He lay 6 wks. in a coma and the Dr. said he would probably not survive, nor would he walk again. As he come out of the coma, he started having grand mal seizures and had them every day of his life until his death at age 38 of a heart attack. He did learn to walk, having to wear braces on his legs for many yrs. because they were turned inward. Of all the terrible incidents he had growing up with his seizures, almost drowning in the cattle trough, falling into the fireplace and having 3rd degree burns all over his back and many others, it is amazing that is not what he died from. He always fell with a seizure, with no control over his body, it was hard to watch growing up; seeing your older brother in such pain. He could be playful at times, but dangerous at other times, he would try to hurt anyone he could catch. He was never able to learn his ABC's, but he could remember how to get to anyone's house that we used to visit. He had the mind of a child, they gauged about 4-6 yrs. He loved my husband Paul and would mind him very well. Paul always let him do things, like taking a bill and letting Windell give them the money and bill, he really enjoyed that. He wanted to please Paul, I am thankful for such a kind understanding husband, who would spend time with a child who was 1 yr. younger than himself, but would always remain a child. Paul tried to save him when he had his heart attack. After a hard life of daily living, for 38 yrs. Windell now is at rest with no pain and I am thankful. This was a learning experience for me as a child growing up; you learn to be thankful and how to deal with situations; it makes you look at people differently. From a sister Glenda Mae.
