Esther Mae Jaros, the daughter of Othilie (Dahl) and Otto Christianson was born on November 17, 1916 in Pencer, MN. Esther's parents were both born in Norway, moved to the United States and made their home in northern Minnesota.

Esther married John Jaros in Pencer, MN on November 10, 1942. They raised their three children, Sandra, David, and Norine while farming together until 1962. Esther and John continued to live in Warroad the rest of their lives, and Esther spent many happy days as a wonderful Mom, Granny and Great-Granny enjoying her family. John passed away on October 15, 1989 in Warroad.

Esther belonged to the Zion Lutheran Church. She was a very strong Christian person and was active in the W. E. L. C. W. She worked at the Warroad hospital for 13 years and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, playing cards, reading, word puzzles, and music and dancing. She especially liked country western music and older church hymns.

Esther passed away on Monday, February 20, 2006 at the Warroad Care Center. She was 89 years old. God Bless her memory.

Esther is preceded in death by her husband, John, and her siblings, Sigrid, Harry, Myra, Julius, Christine, Roy and Brado.

Funeral Services for Esther will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church in Warroad at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Warroad. A devotional service will be held at 7:30 p.m. for a time of sharing memories and prayers.
