Funeral services will be held at the Woodfords Congregational Church at 3 p.m. today for Donald B. Hodgdon, 42, of 902 Brighton Avenue who collapsed at his work Thursday and died shortly after of a heart ailment. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Hodgdon, a foreman for the Portland Gas Light Company, was born in Portland, Nov. 30, 1906, the son of Harold and the late Harriett Hodgdon. He attended the local schools and had been employed by the gas company for nine years. he entered military service in June of 1942 and was discharged in September, 1945. Hodgdon was with the Third Air Force and was discharged as a sergeant. A member of the American Legion and an attendant at the Woodfords Congregational Church, Hodgdon was a member of Cornerstone Lodge of Masons, the Scottish Rite bodies, and Koita Shrine in which he was a member of the Legion of Honor. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ella Halnes Hodgdon; a step-daughter, Mrs. Robert Donovan; his father; a sister, Mrs. Charles Beaumier, all of Portland; a brother, Richard W., of South Portland; and several aunts and uncles.
