▪ Valentine was born 17 Jan 1955 to Joseph Jaworski & Marianna Jaskowiak in Dziecmiarki, Wielkopolskie, Poland;
▪ baptized on 28 Jan 1855 in Slawno, Wielkopolskie--See row 7 of baptism document.

Though Valentine's gravestone reflects a different year of birth, this confusion is common and indeed his brother was born ten years earlier than his own death certificate indicates, and his sister's gravestone shows a different year of birth too. It was previously assumed that Valentine was born on Feb 14th, Saint Valentine's day; Valentine's family was Catholic so we can assume Saint Valentine was his patron.

Name variations: Valentinus, Walenty, Valentine; Jaworski, Jaworsky.

Valentine's father, Joseph, was born about 1821 and probably in Poznan, however a birth/baptism record has not yet been found;
Joseph died 20 Jul 1861 in Slepowo, Wielkopolskie, Poland.
▪ Joseph's first marriage was to Agnieszka Nowak, born about 1821 and died 30 Sep 1853, Dziecmiarki, Wielkopolskie, Poland.
▪ Second marriage to Marianna Jaskowiak was in Slawno, Wielkopolskie, Poland on 13 Nov 1853.

Descendants of Valentine share DNA with descendants of his siblings and cousins:

Full siblings
* Jacob Jaworski 1857-1872 (b/d in Wielkopolskie, Poland)
* Katarzyna Jaworska Golebiewska 1859-1941 (born Wielkopolskie, Poland, died in Buffalo, NY)
* Kazimierz Jaworski 1861 - ? (born Slepowo, Wielkopolskie, Poland)

Half Siblings
* Mikolaj Jaworski 1848-1925 (born Dziecmiarki, died in Buffalo, NY)
* Michael Jaworski 1851-1853 (born in Zakrzewo, Wielkopolskie, Poland; died in Dziecmiarki)

Uncle & Cousins
* Franciszek Jaworski 1818-1906 (born Wielkopolskie, Poland, died in Buffalo, NY).
* Jozef, Marianna, Francizsek Jr, Magdalena, Antonina, Stanislaus, Wojciech and Wincenty.

Additional details: Valentine's Wisconsin family would celebrate shared occasions with his brother's family in Buffalo, lots of road trips between these places, but much shorter than having transversed the Atlantic Ocean. Descendants of both families have photos, pictures and stories, and now DNA matches, so there is no doubt this family.

This summary of ancestry was compiled by Tim H, Valentine's 2nd great-grandnephew.
In 2022 we hired the team at Poznan Project to connect the dots and tell the story of our ancestors.
