Lois I. Kruck, 75, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on March 8, 2011 at Ministry Door County Medical Center. She was born on April 21, 1935 in Manitowoc to Herbert and Olga (Wegner) Boldt. On July 29, 1955 she married Jay Kruck at St. Mary's Church in Menasha. Lois attended Manitowoc Schools and Prospect Hall in Milwaukee. She and Jay built and developed the fourth Jellystone Park in Fort Atkinson. Later, they opened Jay's Y-Inn, south of Sturgeon Bay. Lois was a Certified Hotel Administrator and managed the King's Inn Motel in Sturgeon Bay. For several years she was the Cash Officer at Yonkers in Sturgeon Bay. She enjoyed playing tennis, gardening, and traveling. Survivors include her husband, Jay; two children, Jayne (James) Schermerhorn, Neenah; Brian T. (Linda) Kruck, Two Rivers; eight grandchildren, David Kruck, Neenah; Sandra (Robert) Sitte, Sister Bay; Cynthia Kruck, Tampa, FL; Christopher Kruck, Sturgeon Bay; Amanda Kruck, Two Rivers; Michael, David, and Andrew Schermerhorn, Neenah; one great-grandson, Landon Sitte; a daughter in law, Sharon Kruck, Sturgeon Bay; sister-in-law, Jenny Boldt, Minneapolis, MN; and beloved dog, Hannah. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Gregg; brother, Harold Boldt and a sister, Irene Boldt. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay with Rev. Darrick Kolterjahn officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13 at the Forbes Funeral Home and then after 10:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
