Vernette "Grandma Net" Nebel

Vernette M. Nebel, age 86, a resident of the Hamilton Memorial Home, formerly of 1821-21st St., Two Rivers, died Thursday night, April 15, 2004, at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish, St. Luke Site, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William G. O?Brien, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Vernette was born August 12, 1917, in Two Rivers, the daughter of the late John and Esther (Beth) Williams. She attended schools in Two Rivers, graduating from
St. Luke Parochial School in 1931, and from Washington High School with the class of 1935. On Sept. 11, 1937, she married George Nebel at St. Luke Catholic Church. Monsignor Hugo presided at the ceremony. Vernette was an avid listener of sports at all levels ? high school, college or professional. She was also an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting afghans for family and friends, and more than 25 years of summer fun at their trailer in Jellystone Park. Above all, her greatest love was her family.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Jane Nebel, Two Rivers; two grandchildren, Kim (Steve) Schramm, and Kevin (Kristen) Nebel, all of Two Rivers; and five great-grandchildren, Kelly and Kyle Schramm, Adam, Alex and Andrew Nebel. She is further survived by one sister-in-law, Helen Rezachek, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, George, on April 15, 1994.

Relatives and friends may call at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, St. Luke Site, after 9 a.m. on Wednesday until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish Building Fund.
