Flora V. Field, daughter of William V. Field and Mary Russell, married (1) James W. Dorcas on 13 July 1882 in Olin, Jones County, Iowa. She married (2) Abraham Miller on 9 June 1934 in Sebastian County, Arkansas.

Last Rites For Mrs. A. L. Miller At S. D. A. Church

Funeral services were held in the Nevada Seventh Day Adventist church, Thursday afternoon, Feb. 9, for Mrs. A. L. (Flora) Miller, with W. A. Dessain, president of the Iowa Conference of Seventh Day Adventists in charge, assisted by the local pastor, A. Russell Hagen.

Special music was rendered by Mrs. Otho Kirk and Mrs. Elmer Anderson, accompanied by Mrs. Glenn Davenport. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery.

Obituary

Flora V. Field, daughter of W. V. and Mary L. Field was born at Anamosa, Iowa Dec. 12, 1864, and passed away Feb. 7, 1950, at the Scott Nursing home in Des Moines, having passed the 85th year of her life.

On July 13, 1882, she was united in marriage with J. W. Dorcas. To this union one daughter, Nellie, was born. For 15 years Mrs. Dorcas was employed by the Iowa Conference of Seventh Day Adventists as editor of the Iowa Workers' Bulletin and she served that organization thirty years as state Sabbath School superintendent. She and her husband were at one time connected with the Iowa Sanitarium in Des Moines, and later when it was moved to Nevada. In 1930 Mr. Dorcas passed away.

On June 9 1934, Mrs. Dorcas was united in marriage with A. L. Miller. She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Mrs. Nellie Curtis of LaCrosse, Wisc.; a foster son, Dwight, who lives in California; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren besides many relatives and friends.
