He was born May 6, 1932, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Imel and Mabel (Brintnall). He served in the United States Army for two years in the military police. Carl owned Colonial Florist on Ohio River Road in Portsmouth since 1969. He had a passion for flower arranging and design. He also loved his cats and taking care of his coy ponds.
He is survived by one son Kevin Laack of Greenup; two grandchildren, James Laack and Sarah Laack; two brothers, LeRoy and Leland Laack, both of Salem Oregon; one sister, LaVonne Dunlap of Salem, Oregon; special friend Lana Lore of Portsmouth.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn June and one son Richard.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville is handling the arrangements.
