Harvey Milton Nolen ran a little country store next to his home on Aiken Rd. in Thyatira most of his life. He never had any children. He was first married to Rivers Hataway and then to Minnie Thomas. He lived a long, healthy life and was only sick for a few weeks before his death. He was known for his questioning everyone he met about their family, always asking "who's yo mammy?" He was rarely seen without an unlit cigar in his mouth. He never smoked it. In his youth, he was known to hate school and often climbed a tree on the way to school and hid there until school was over and his sister, Dovie, came back through the path.
