Son of Raymond and Helen Abel, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2005 in Richmond, Texas. Mr. Abel was preceded in death by his loving wife Sylvia with whom he spent 25 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughter, Sherry L. Abel; son, Raymond E. Abel III and wife Sheila Abel; stepson, Michael Monte and wife Donna; grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany, Jonathan, Tia and Madelyn Monte; daughter-in-law, Gina Martin; sister, Helen Rae Baer; brother, Jimmy Jenkins as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Raymond was a 25 year veteran of the Houston Police Department with the rank of Sergeant. He was a graduate of the Houston Police Academy Class #30. He also served as a Lieutenant for the Harris County Precinct 1 Constables' office and served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
