She was married to Harland L Collett who was born in Hayward Jan 24, 1920. He passed away in Brownsville, TX. Mar 19, 1985.

Vivian "Sid" Kavanagh, 76, Hayward, died Sunday, Aug. 21, at Valley Health Care Center.

She was born May 22, 1918, at Radisson, daughter of James B. and Lisa (Borreson) Kerr. She grew up and attended school in Radisson, then moved to Hayward where she graduated from high school. She worked for many years in the Hayward area, including volunteer work during the conception years of the Hayward Musky Festival. In 1966 she founded Sid's Fashions, which she owned and operated until her retirement. She was a past member and president of the Hayward Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Patrick; one son, William (Leesa) Collett, Janesville, WI; one daughter, Patty Swaffield, Hayward; one step-son, Jack (Denise) Kavanagh, Wilmette, IL; two step-daughters, Mary Ellen (Vince) Harnett, Irvine, CA, and Kathleen (Joseph) Rinaldi, Glen Ellyn, IL; four step grandchildren; one sister, Marlys (Jack) Coburn, Hayward; and nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Harland "Heinie" Collett; one son, Michael Collett; two brothers, Wesley and Raymond; and two sisters, Doreen and Margaret.

Funeral services were at 11 A.M. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at First Congregational Church, Hayward, with Rev. David Perkins officiating. Music was provided by Charlene Murdock. Visitation was from 4-8 on Tuesday at the Koerpel Funeral Home. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hayward.

Casketbearers were Wayne Gutsch, Jason and Patrick Harnett, Allen Heinkel, Jack Kavanagh, and Joseph Rinaldi.

Koerpel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the Northwoods Humane Society for feeding and care, Route 6, Hayward.
